Director's Statement
Theatreland was filmed in a theatre in the heart of London's West End. Myself, and virtually every actor in the film, have worked as ushers for the past few years bringing an authenticity and magic to the film. There's a strange tension working Front of House as you're in the location of your dreams, but at the same time confronted with the heart-wrenching reality of watching actors live your dreams on stage every night whilst you serve ice-creams. It was this complexity which I wanted most to explore. Theatreland is my love letter to the theatre, to the West End.
