Director's Statement

I’m drawn to comedy that grows out of deeply human, difficult moments. The idea for Roll It came from my co-writer and lead actress, Emily Wilson’s lived experience. Like many working actors, Emily has spent countless early mornings squeezing last-minute self-tape auditions into an already packed day. At its heart, Roll It is a love letter to our friends and collaborators in the industry - people who keep showing up and giving it their all, even when the ground beneath them feels unsteady.
