In English with English subtitles.
This film is family friendly.
Broke and disheveled, Shane has the worst luck when it comes to owning umbrellas, having broken every single one within a few days of owning it. One day, when he sees the “world’s strongest umbrella” on display at a store window, he is dismayed that he cannot afford to buy it. He watches enviously as Amelia, an elegant and self assured woman, purchases one right in front of him. And when she starts showing up with the umbrella everywhere he goes, he makes up his mind to try and steal it, certain that it will solve all of his problems.
Director's Statement
I've always been a big fan of visual humor, so making a silent comedy film has always appealed to me. When I pictured someone down-and-out, struggling with their umbrella on a rainy day, I realized how easy it was to tell this story with very little dialogue. This film is my homage to the silent comedies of a bygone era while also being told with strong visual cinematography and a musical soundtrack that heightens the story to entertaining levels. I believe this is a timeless comedy which can be universally understood and enjoyed within any era and on any continent.
