This film is family friendly.
First-generation Mexican American Miriam returns home expecting to celebrate her 21st birthday, hoping to reconcile after years of distance from her father. Instead, she learns he needs her to sponsor him at his long-awaited green card interview the next day. Confronted with a broken food truck and a bond strained by grief and pride, they must face the unspoken resentments between them. Set between the warmth of the kitchen and the cold tension of bureaucracy, Paredes Entre Tú y Yo is an intimate portrait of love, sacrifice, and generational divide within immigrant families.
Director's Statement
Paredes Entre Tú y Yo is a deeply personal story about memory, migration, and the fragile bond between a daughter and her father. Through the intimacy of a family kitchen and food truck, the film explores how love, sacrifice, and history collide in a single life-changing immigration interview. My intention was to tell this story with naturalism, tenderness, and quiet emotional resonance.
