Director's Statement
Born and raised in Central Phoenix, Margaret is a filmmaker and first-year grad student at USC School of Cinematic Arts studying Film & TV Production. Through making Keel, she realized that she was invested in amplifying female voices. Especially female driven narratives that demonstrate how young women navigate their lives on both a personal and emotional level. Margaret chose to tell this story because it's based on a true story about how her parents met and follows the main character Keel, where she's at a point in her life where the emotions she's experiencing in 1977 are no different than the emotions women feel today.
