Since the death of his parents, the teenage Burak lives with his uncle Cemil and grandmother in a remote Turkish village town. They try to make a living by selling pomegranates but while the religious Cemil is satisfied to live his life in poverty, Burak struggles to leave for the university in the city. When the grandmother gets sick, both have to make tough decisions that will change their lives.
Director's Statement
I am so grateful to had the chance to shoot my feature debut together with my DP husband in the hometown of my family in Turkey. It was a great experience in a beautiful landscape and with all these awesome people.
