It's 2052 in a time of drought. HILLCORP controls regional water supplies and have stopped releasing water to the Flatlanders below, leaving them in a dire situation. Will the children of HILLCORP risk their lives to help the Flatlanders? This is a difficult decision since water theft is a capital crime.
Director's Statement
Teen Street Films company members created a fascinating story in FOR THE PEOPLE. As is often the case, teenagers have the compassion and drive to address tough issues. The story alone was impressive, but even more impressive was their desire to tackle an issue like water rights and the privatization of natural resources. We're very proud of these young artists and hope FOR THE PEOPLE will spark a conversation about whether or not corporations can be appropriate stewards and do the right thing for all people.
