The Soup
Lim Young-Hoon
Park Woo-Chan
South Korea, 2017, 112 min.
In Korean with English subtitles.
This film is family friendly.
Based on the true story of a disabled family whose home was invaded by an ex-con, The Soup is the poignant tale of one father’s attempt to protect his family while confronting a man who has no plans to leave.
Director's Statement
It's easier to hurt one's family because they are so close to us. We are indifferent to "others". We tend to ignore and neglect, but the worst is to have preconception and prejudice about the others. The "glance" is even crueler than the actual violence on the surface.
