Drawing the power dynamics of a job interview out from behind closed doors, Interview with Traveler #582 takes aim at this absurd capitalist ritual and its many tropes. The satirical short also introduces the world of Third Eye Moonwalk, a secretive spiritual order that can teleport through time and space. Despite their miraculous powers, the organization is mired in debt, suffering from dwindling numbers and struggling to keep the lights on. In an attempt to recruit new members, a seasoned gatekeeper interviews Traveler #582, a promising devotee, who dreams of attaining enlightenment.

Director's Statement

Interview with Traveler #582 explores the conflict between the needs of our inner selves and the escalating demands of our capitalist culture, with its incessant commercialism and feverish monetization. Our experimental short film offers a dark, comedic take on this moment in time by satirizing our approach to spirituality, which has been co-opted for the privileged by an opportunistic enlightenment industry.
