This cinematic journey takes us along the border between the USA and its southern neighbor, Mexico. Following the border line on the US side, the documentary captures the lives of the people living and working here; of those who are threatened with deportation, or of those who offer refugee assistance to humanitarian organizations and oppose the construction of further border fortifications. At the same time, vigilantes are out and about, bound and determined to fighting drug trafficking and yearning for a completely impenetrable border. Likewise, entrepreneurs and ranchers are also confronted with the activities at the border in their daily lives. In this intense area, the foray leads from little-protected to high-security zones, from inhospitable desert strips to (sub-)urban centres and depicts an impressive, suspenseful journey through the south of the USA.
