Being Dead
John Meyers
United States, 2019, 99 min.
Includes violence.
Based on the only novel of the esteemed British author Jim Crace to be made into a motion picture, Being Dead is a powerful story of loss, regret, and love's ability to endure. The film stars Linus Roache, Elizabeth Marvel, and Kathryn Erbe and also features a breakout performance by Swedish actor, Emilotte Persson.
Director's Statement
From the moment I finished reading Jim Crace's extraordinary novel in August of 2001, I have been on a mission to adopt this remarkable love story to the screen. While this award-winning book to most did not seem to lend itself to the cinema, I saw it quite differently and envisioned how Jim's masterpiece could have tremendous cinematic potential.
