Medicine of the Wolf

Julia Huffman
United States, 2015, 75 min.

In English.

Filmmaker Julia Huffman travels to Minnesota and into wolf country to pursue the deep intrinsic value of brother wolf and our forgotten promise to him. The film features world renown environmentalist and National Geographic photographer, Jim Brandenburg, someone who has photographed, studied and been on the ground with wolves for 45 years - longer than anyone in history.

Director's Statement

The purpose of the film is to bring to the forefront of people's hearts and minds the value of the wolf, both ecologically and spiritually and to shine the light on this urgent time for an ancient species. My hope is that our viewers will fall in love with our main character Jim Brandenburg and his 45 year passion for the wolf, an animal that to this day is still known to be the most misunderstood creature on the planet. Medicine of the Wolf is an independent project which has been mostly funded by supporters on Kickstarter from all over the world and by winning the 1st place ACE grant from the Humane Society of the United States. Many artists have endorsed and given to our project, namely, James Taylor, Bonnie Rait, Moby, Graham Nash, Michael Stipe and more!
