THIS IS NOT A MOVIE. IT’S A MOVEMENT. Thousands of Native Americans, including elders, teachers and children, have been unjustly banished from their tribes. You're No Indian delves into the deeply troubling issue of tribal disenrollment and exposes the role of casinos in fueling a quiet yet devastating civil war within Indigenous communities.
Director's Statement
You’re No Indian began with a question: what happens when a community is told it no longer belongs to itself? This film reveals the quiet reality of tribal disenrollment, where identity, family and belonging are at stake. Guided by those who shared their stories, every frame reflects truth, resilience and survival. The endurance, visibility and fight to remain connected to culture and community are at the heart of the growing community around this film. We share this film in the spirit of recognition and unity.
