AIFF Award Winner:
Jury Award for Creative Achievement
Helen and John are artists. They're also contract killers. And they hate the name Gary.
Director's Statement
My professional background is in visual art, so the conversations Helen and John have about their more successful artist friends or grant applications are ripped right from real-life conversations that my artist peers are having. The contrast between Helen and John's commitment to their art practice and their callous attitude toward their brutal day job speaks to the nuances of creative ambition, gig work and the art market, and suggests that our collective ideal of "the artist" might be the perfect cover for a sociopathic hitman.
