The Kitchen

Bob Belinoff
United States, 2024, 11 min.

In English.
This film is family friendly.

Restaurant work as craft. Immigrant Americans do much of the work that native born American's won't do. But in this restaurant they move up in the ranks and create community on both sides of the kitchen door.

Director's Statement

I like work. The behind the scenes workforce in this restaurant, like most, is largely composed of recent immigrants. The Hispanic culture around work, craft and food comes thru in this 11 min. snapshot of a day of the life of popular Albuquerque restaurant. I am a fly on the wall. But it is thru the camera lens that I begin to see, and fall in love, with whats really going on.
