Canada, 2025, 23 min.

In English.

Zoey, a funeral home employee, must put her own personal struggles aside to help Katherine, a grieving mother who just lost her daughter.

Director's Statement

Serenity is a film that tackles themes, such as grief and mental health, that are resonant to me. It's also inspired by some very personal experiences. Through the journey of Zoey and Katherine, I wanted to explore the power of connection, and how it can come from the most unexpected places. It's a film about the impact someone can have in one's life, even if their presence is brief. This story is also a reminder to cherish the time we have with our loved ones because we never know how long we have with them.

Category: Drama, Short.
