Director's Statement

As a University of Arizona alum, I am looking forward to sharing Max Winslow and the House of Secrets with a Tucson audience. With Max Winslow, I wanted to make a film that explores our obsessions with technology and how it has a hold on our youth and the families they live with. My intent is to not pander to audiences and portray teens in a realistic way as capable, smart problem-solvers with the freedom to make decisions and mistakes. These themes are still relevant today, although they have been sorely lacking in many modern family films. All of our characters are treated with the upmost respect, written as multi-dimensional with diverse backgrounds and real-world challenges to overcome.

Category: Science Fiction, Feature.
Themes: Adventure, Technology, Youth.
