A Vietnam vet and successful photojournalist, Sean is in Cambodia during the early 1970’s. Ignoring contrary advice, he and a photographer friend, Dana, head for the southern jungle.
In the midst of Khmer Rouge territory, Sean and Dana have no trouble finding their front-page story. But getting it out to the world takes every resource they can muster.
Shot in the jungles of Cambodia, the film alternates breathtakingly beautiful countryside and the charm of the rural residents with the brutality of war. The combination results in a tense drama, which is inspired by true-life events. The two young men, who have everything going for them, are suddenly immersed in a hostile and unyielding reality.
Despite the tight plot sequence and polished production quality, this is director Brendan Moriarty’s first feature. Twenty-one years old with a fascination for history, he currently has several other works in production.
