Eva is 23 years old. She has a genetic disease called cystic fibrosis. Unless she gets a double-lung transplant, she’ll die.
Cystic fibrosis patients cannot form a support group. Meeting face-to-face risks cross infections. But they can connect through the internet.
Eva is number 1 on the transplant list. Even so, she must wait -- not knowing if the transplant will come in time. Fortunately she has on-line companionship from two other young women battling cystic fibrosis. Although very different and separated by hundreds of miles, they struggle together and support each other.
Nimisha Mukerji and Philip Lyall are British Columbian filmmakers. While they have separately directed and produced other projects, 65_RedRoses is their first documentary feature.
