JOURNEY FROM ZANSKAR opens the 2011 Arizona International Film Festival on Friday, April 1 at 8:00pm at the historic Fox Tucson Theatre. A stunning documentary about what families in Zanskar will do to give their children an education and, at the same time, preserve their Tibetan culture. Award-winning filmmaker Frederick Marx will introduce the film.

Film Festival Hits The Road
To celebrate our achievement of "Twenty Years of Independents", the Festival will travel to neighboring communities. With support from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, we will visit Arivaca, Patagonia and SaddleBrooke as well as a tour stop at Alamos, Mexico. 2011 Festival Chairperson
Councilwoman Regina Romero will serve as the Honorary Chairperson for the 20th anniversary Festival. "I applaud the Arizona International Film Festival for its independent spirit, and for continually providing programs to our diverse community, young and old."
Congratulations to the Reel Frontier Finalists
82 films representing 20 countries have been selected as Reel Frontier finalists and will compete for the Best of Category awards. Winning films will be announced at The Art Institute of Tucson on Saturday, April 9 at 8:00pm. Click here for the 2011 Reel Frontier finalists.

IndieYouth Films Selected
Congratulations to the young filmmakers, from Arizona to Burundi, for being selected to screen at the 2011 Arizona International Film Festival. Indie Family Films

Tucson Welcomes Festival Filmmakers
Out-of-town visitors have a variety of choices when it comes to resting their heads after an exciting day at the Festival! The historical Hotel Congress, which housed and aided in the arrest of infamous bank robber John Dillinger, the Hotel Arizona, a hub for all things downtown Tucson, Hotel Tucson, where cinematic legend John Wayne used to stay, and our newest hotel, the Riverpark Inn.
